The Blue Caves consist of particular geologic formations giving life to a succession of caves along the North-West coast of the island; they start soon after Agios Nikolaos to end near Skinari Cape.
The unusual caves were discovered in 1897, with the largest cave being called Blue Grotto. You can only visit them by boat
The colours of the caves are spectacular and have to be seen to be believed. The area is also ideal for snorkeling.
