Cameo Island Zante

Cameo is a small private islet next to the harbor of Agios Sostis. In the past it used to be part of the mainland but after an earthquake it separated as a small piece of land in the sea. Cameo is connected with the land via a short wooden bridge. After you pass the bridge, you will see a gate.

The trees on the island, the bridge and the small church that is located there, form a very idyllic scenery. The island got its name from the church on it, which has been there not for five or ten years, but for sixteen whole centuries. The island Cameo island (Agios Sostis) is a little diamond in the Ionian Sea and has a beautiful beach with crystal clear water. This beach is the extension of the big and famous beach of Zakynthos, Laganas.
